Build Complete Suited Sequences

Begin by examining the cards available in each tableau and look for opportunities to arrange them in descending order. Cards can be placed strategically to reveal hidden cards and create longer sequences, but completing a run requires every card from King through Ace to belong to the same suit. Managing the tableau effectively is essential, as each move can open new possibilities or leave valuable cards blocked.

Choose Your Challenge

Spider Solitaire offers three modes that change how demanding each hand becomes. Easy mode uses only one suit, Spades, making it a comfortable choice for learning the mechanics and practicing sequence building. Normal mode introduces two suits, Spades and Hearts, requiring more attention when arranging cards. Hard mode uses all four suits and creates a much more complex puzzle where careful planning and long-term strategy become increasingly important.

Use the Stock Carefully

The stock provides additional cards when the tableau has no useful moves left, but using it at the wrong moment can make the position harder to solve. Each stock action adds one card to every tableau, potentially disrupting carefully arranged sequences. Before dealing from the stock, consider whether any available moves remain and whether your current layout is prepared for the additional cards. All tableaus must contain at least one card before the stock can be used.
